So we have rested. Now we are ready for another 7 months of rock and roll. During our two week break Ian has found interpeace, Kevin has reworked his masters thesis on irregular logrythmic equalibrium functions, jeremy has helped stop a large percentage of the domestic famine cycles from continuing, and I have got some sleep. We are continuing on with the album and should be done within a few weeks.

We don't have a show this weekend? This is unheard of!! We took this opportunity to take our rock to the bowling alley with the all-time high for the evening going to Kevin & I with a 120. We'll be back in action next week with a show at DV8 in Portland on Thursday with Waylaid. I'll be updating the webpage soon to make it official.

So I just bought a new amp, it will be here in a few days. We will then continue on with the recording process. God bless rock and roll.

I've just redone the photo section of our page so you can check us out in our "early" days. Kevin, The Rabit & I just got back from a rock show that we weren't playing in at Berbati's Pan. Pleasure Forever, Bluebird & a couple more bands put on a good show. I don't think I'll go to work this morning, I'm just going to sleep in so I can bring the thunder to our show in Seattle on Saturday.

For all of you AHL fans that tell yourself day in and day out, 'I wish AHL had better rythm guitar tone', the answer has come. I, Ricky ticky, have taken it upon myself to try and buy a new amplifer. I thought about buying a old fender, for its warm clean tones, but remebered thats what I have now....and what is AHL going to do with a 'warm clean tone'. Then i thought about getting a marshall jcm 800 for its mean (and sometimes destructive) overtones, since thats what slash plays, but i remembered i don't play lead guitar. It was in my time of darkest despair, after looking at hundreds of amps and listening to all of them when it happened...there it was, looking right at me. No longer was i choosing an amp to buy.......the amp had already picked me. Two words come to mind.... DR. Z.

This weekend we will be playing our first show in Seattle. Sure it can be a little scarey to enter into a Rock Mecca like Seattle, but we have a plan. We are going to dress up in dresses and attempt to act like the band 'hells bells'. They are from Seattle, everyone likes them and they play rock music, so we might have a chance. We are banking on the fact that everyone will be too drunk to notice when we get on stage. Granted we are hoping they don't question Kevin's 10'o clock shadow, Jeremy's sideburns, or the Rabit's suggestive crotch bulge, but its so crazy......it just might work.
Also this weekend, on march 14th to be exact, our favorite classic rock band COURAGE will be playing at the Mt. Tabor Pub for their CD release party (greatest hits 1982-1987). Be sure to be there, since few bands (in the last 20 years) rock as hard as the men in courage. If you don't know who courage is maybe its time you find out. Check out their website...we have it as one of our links.

I would like to thank everyone who came out to watch our performances at the Triangle and the System this weekend. We rocked as hard as we could, and I still can't hear. The room sounds like it is getting ready to take off.....everything sounds that way when I stop to think about it. Everything has a gentle hum to it. Oh well, we all have 5 days to recover before round 59 of the 'AHL mini-weekend-tour' starts. We are feeling good about round 59. Round 59 represents a turning point in the band. Round 59 is a place where we can sit back and say, "wow, how many rounds are there in this match?" The true question is...who will be there to witness what happens in the 59th round...well we soon will find out.

Once again the ugly face of evil has reared it's wretched head. to all of those who were forced to read the unwarranted attempt at dethroning the rabit, i apologize. let me explain something very serious to you all. this is an issue that, unfortunately, ricky ticky has yet to understand. THE RABIT MAKES NO MISTAKES! every note is specifically calibrated through a convulsive fireworks display of synapse firing within my brain. every seductive caress of my supple guitar neck is perfect, make no doubt. sometimes, it has occurred to me, that people (spec. ricky ticky) misunderstand the genius behind my motives as
"rif raf". they see my affluence as mindless debris that should be thrown out with the compost, or something that stinks worse than the audience at ricky lake show. once again it is clear that ricky ticky knows not of the tools which the rabit wields, such as the great Aeolian mode or the magnificent descending harmonic minor. for that matter ricky ticky seems to be in the dark as to where the rabit’s powers come from. if ricky ticky knew his head from his ass, he would quit pretending to be a musician, or for that matter an engineer, and bow down to the sheer magnificence that is THE RABIT...NOW GET ME A CARROT BITCH!

so there we were...sitting and eatting...when it came to me...sort of like a stroke of genius..
I realized that the only reason everyone out there in music land doesn't have a new AHL record is because the Rabbit keeps messing up on is solos.....the rabbit took 9 hours to record......thats right....nothing. I sat behind the recording console and watched the rabbit mess up time after time for a whole day. thats right a whole day....i didn't think there was that many wrong notes on the neck. some how i was shown to be quite wrong...now i know there is...indeed a whole bunch of wrong notes you can hit. right now i am going to try and record the rabbit again. this time we are lowering our expectations to having him hit some right notes instead of recording a whole solo. i am sorry rabbit for calling so much attention to your apparent lack of talent. don't be angry at me for just calling it as it is. I am only the messager. if you try, which you will, to make me look like i was at fault for you screwing up so many times, i am sure everyone in music will still know the truth. i am free.

So the Rabbit's head, my arm, and Kevin's bass cabinet should all be healed by show time on friday. We are heading to the famous Triangle Inn in Salem, Oregon for a public demonstration of our musical ability. You can buy tickets in advance to avoid the usual 'I am stuck in the parking lot and I have to watch AHL through the tiny barred windows because the bar is over capacity' thing. If you forget to buy tickets in advance, fear not...we will be in the parking lot afterways to sign a few autographs and we promise to wave as we pull off in the rabbit's geo hatchback. Farwell my dear rockers. Attempt to be safe and remember....if you keep buying bad records, they will keep making them.

We should have all of the guitar tracks recorded by this weekend. This means the only thing we have left to do is vocals and we should be ready for mixing. We are in the process of tracking down a company that will make records for us. I believe we are going to release a CD, a record (LP), a 45, and a limited edition 8 track. If anyone wants the new american hit list album on 8 track just let me know, because right now I think I am only going to order about 10 of them. Good luck my fellow rockers, and to end with a quote from the wise lead singer of mr. sparkle.......'if it ain't broke, smash it.'

One more mini-tour in the books, thanks to everyone that came out and watched the mayhem that is our show on Friday & Saturday. Only two casualties (One bass speaker from an Ian stage dive & one forehead). A big thanks to Waylaid for coming in on short notice and kickin' some ass. We've got 4 new songs you can listen to on our website & some press reviews you can check out. Our individual pages are next up for updating so keep checking, any questions or comments on the new look can be sent to Jeremy.
